The Native Americans of the Southeast culture area traditionally lived in what is now the
southeastern United States. This area extends from the Atlantic Ocean to somewhat west of the Mississippi River. The Southeast tribes included the
Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek and Seminole.
